Meeting!

We will now hold meetings in B-8 during lunch on Mondays and Fridays. This Monday (11/14/11) we will begin actually teaching you programming. Since the majority of the club votes to focus on Java that is what we will cover. Additional reading will be assigned after the meeting, this documentation is optional however it will expedite the process of learning Java. Also please bring your laptops, with Eclipse installed, on Monday if it is convenient for you.

So delicious and moist

During today's meeting we had Helen Chen, an secretary from OpenSocial, present about social networking at enterprise. After her presentation we ate some black-forest cake (created by Louisa Hua); it was so delicious and moist. Our next meeting is on the next Monday (11/14) during lunch in B-8. Come to learn the basics of Java, and to discuss certain aspects of how our club is run.

We Will Persevere!

As some of you might know, our club was vetoed by leadership council today. The end vote was 22 for and 26 agaisnt. In face of this disappointment, the officers for Programming++ have not give up hope nor have they abandoned the club to return to playing League of Legends. Instead they have chosen to persevere, and continue to attempt to make Programming++ an official club. Until that point of time we will continue to hold informal meetings. Our next meeting will be in B-8 on 11/7. Come to listen to Helen Chen, who is the Software Architect/ Principal Engineer at Huewei (USA) and Secretary of the OpenSocial Foundation. After the meeting there will be cake....

Location of First Meeting

Mr. Lazar has generously allowed us to use his room, B8, during lunch on Tuesday(10/25/11). For those attending this first un-official meeting, please make sure to return the room the same way you found it!

Un-Official Club Meeting

Due to the long period of time required for a club to officially pass, I have decided to hold a un-official meeting next Tuesday during lunch, 10/25. There, we will first watch the officers present the Presentation, then we will give feedback/advice for them, and finally have everyone discuss club concepts. If there is time at the end of the meeting we will present a program or two. Location of this meeting has not yet been determined, and we are open to suggestions.
